Fresh Prince 90's print and Wah inspired Nails

Today was a complete fail on the uni front, I got my dissertation appointment time wrong after cycling through torrential rain to get there. Granted, I wasn't dressed appropriately for rain...Aaaanyway, I continued tidying my room, it's taking DAYS! It actually looked like a charity shop had thrown up over it. Hence I'll have about 30 pieces of clothing to put on Ebay this week so watch this space. I love this shirt I found, not bad for a fiver, I just cut out the shoulders and voila I am the Fresh Prince of Bell Air!
wedge trainers
Shirt dress : Vintage , Wedge Trainers : H&M , Chain necklace : Peacocks , Bracelets : Gina Tricot

I'm sorry, I really thought it would make a difference but no amount of tie dye blue silk will disguise the grotty shittiness of my carpet.

Then because I have far too much time on my hands/want to impress at my interview tomorrow I did my nails, took me about 3 hours mind.

nail art

Sick yeah? I am pretty much a man, it takes serious patience and commitment/boredom to be arsed to do nail art like this. Really pointless, but pretty so worth it maybe? I'm gonna cry when these bad boys chip. REALLY. Hope all this hard work pays off and I get the job tomorrow.

Night X

Clashing prints and wedge trainers : Summer has arrived !!

Today, like most of my days lately has been all about revision. I only have six more days till my exams are over and it is already SO HOT and sunny. I cycled home from uni today and you don't even want to know how sweaty I got... Anyway, I was having a bit of a clothing crisis today, I have a new-found hatred for my legs (developed in the last 24 hours I'm sure) and I couldn't find the clothes I actually wanted to wear soooooo this is what happened (apologies for the mirror photos, my lovely house-mate Jackie was indisposed this afternoon :

Trousers : Warehouse via a charity shop , Bralet : Topshop sale

Wedge trainers : H&M
Lipstick : Rimmel Coral Queen , Earrings : Primark

I don't usually clash my prints like this but today it was the only outfit I put on I actually liked. I bought these trousers quite a while ago at a charity shop in Dalston and haven't worn them until now, finally feel as though I'm getting my moneys worth YESSSSSSSS:)

I ended up having  a really productive day and I even got round to making this pizza from scratch and doesn't it look yummy?

Spinach, Chilli, Egg and Cheese pizza and It's square because I decided I like square pizzas :D

I saw an awesome Wah nails design on The Secret Avenue  and immediately set about doing my own version with pink nail varnish, a black Sharpie and a Rimmel matt top coat (I bit my nails to bits so sorry they're a bit gross).
The only camera I had to hand this evening was the one on my phone which is pretty atrocious (HTC SORT IT OUT), in my head though it's the same as Instagram because it does make photos look like they are a bit shitty and old anyway WITHOUT downloading an app.

I really really need to do some shopping soon before I wither away, River Island at the moment OH MY GOODNESS SO MUCH STUFF I NEED IN MY LIFE!!!!!

Charity shops and a vintage fair : London is bleeding me dry

Hey guys , so today it was raining in London town and despite this fact I decided it was okay to wear tiny little shorts (albeit with tights, getting some weird looks in the library now NOT APPROPRIATE ). Sorry about the bathroom mirror pics, nobody around today to take any :/

 Where is it from?

Jumper: Topshop (last winter)
Shorts: DIY from a charity shop
T shirt: Gina Tricot
Lipstick: Mac in Velvet Teddy

My dad went on a weekend away to Stockholm with his lovely girlfriend (who I am sure chose my gift) and came back with this really cool t-shirt for me, you can't really tell much from the picture but it has this cool ombre rainbow thing going on , I love it.

This week has been a week of pure procrastination, my exams are only a month away yet I saw it fit to be wondering around Hammersmith and Shepards Bush all day. Me and Hanna (from the Sheet ) trawled through various charity shops and wondered around Westfield all day. Resulting in me only having £20 to live on until Monday :(. But it was all worth it for these bargains :

Shirt : £1.50 Cancer research
Shorts : DIYed from trousers £3.00

I apologise for looking like a complete idiot in this photo.

Dress: Reiss 1971 collection £10 Triad

Now if only I had a pair of these......

And I'll have a killer outfit on my hands.

Just going to have a little moan about Triad (charity shop) by the way....

So I went into triad in Shepards Bush and I found this nice multicoloured 80's print maxi skirt  and lo and behold was I delighted to see a price tag of £2 on it. However, on going to the cashier I was told that actually the tag was wrong and it cost £15!!!! FFS, then I realised what had happened was that Triad had gone to cancer research (where the tag was from), seen the skirt was cool, then marked it up from the £2 cancer research charged for it. BEARING IN MIND I am as poor as a church mouse this really pissed me off, although I know Triad is a charity I thought this was a bit cheeky, not only are they stealing money from cancer patients, but they are trying to empty my pockets EVEN MORE. Needless to say I didn't buy the skirt (definitely wasn't worth £15) and took my business elsewhere (Age Concern).

Models Own nail varnish in Fluro' Orange £5

And the Sunday before (please don't ask me why I'm not writing in chronological order) me and Ailbhe went to the food market and vintage fair on Brick Lane. I had some lovely dim sum AND a katsu curry, how greedy am I? There were so much really cheap vintage clothes and things, and the people on the stalls were lovely, including one lady I was very jealous of as she had a beautiful patent leather vintage Moschino belt, purchased from the stall across from her the previous weekend. I managed to grab a few bargains there as well :

Vintage  jumpsuit (I made it into a playsuit because the legs were a bit short) £10

Vintage mens shirt ( I cut out the shoulders and I'm going to stud the collar) £5

Vintage ring on the left  (I feel in love with it after it didn't fit Ailbhe and her tiny fingers, I still feel quite bad about it :S ) £6

And the nail varnish in this picture is by Models Own Beetlejuice collection in Aqua Violet

So yeah , I am poor but I think my wardrobe is better off for it.

Still counting down the days till the student loan comes in, I got the date wrong and it's actually the 23rd wahhh! I'm going up to Newcastle next week for my friend Gabby's boyfriends house night called Nocturnal Playground, going to see those Futureboogie guys again, Lukas and Christophe AGAIN. Will be getting plenty of shopping done whilst up there, these are just a few things on my wish list :

  1. Stripy bodysuit -          £20                 www.lavishalice.co.uk
  2. Cross bodysuit -          £22                  Miss Selfridge
  3. Flamingo jumper -       £19.99             www.missguided.co.uk
  4. Polo neck bodysuit -    £25                 River Island
  5. Wedges -]                   £60                  www.asos.com
  6. Tartan bralet -             £12                  Newlook
  7. Peace leggings -           £12                  www.lavishalice.co.uk

I have all that to look forward to, now to get started on the revision and listening to Soul Clap too loud..... lets pray I pass the year.

Samira Boon Furoshiki Shiki lust

The i Pad Furoshiki Shiki  created by Samira Boon deserves it's own post.
I've been lusting over this amazing piece of Japanese/Dutch design  for a while, having seen it held by Ivania Carpio of Love Aesthetics.

I don't even own an i Pad mind, read the name of the blog! But like Ivania I think this makes an awesome clutch especially with the neon thing going on everywhere at the moment.
I . NEED . TRANSPARENT . STUFF

Now this is a very impractical craving when living in East London... think about it.

The envelope style simplicity of this  is actually amazing as demonstrated below:

Comes in LOADS of colours.

When the next bit of loan comes in I think I'll go for the green one. BOOM!
Wow, don't know where that came from.
my dissertation research proposal won't write itself .
Oh and one more thing inspired by Ivania Carpio :

I guess these are third hand, she copied these from her sister. Hers were nude and black but I was digging some Louboutin style nails
On another note..

Sunny G's  - Primark
T shirt - my sisters

YESSSSSSS IT'S NEARLY SUMMER..

I'm counting down the days.....

(photos all from Google apart from the rubbish one of me)

Not doing my lab report... Cheapest outfit ever

Onesy: American Apparel (£4 from AA thrift)
Shorts: Vintage Levi 501 (A FIVER!!)
Belt: Primark (borrowed)
Tights: Stolen from my sister

NAILS

Topshop - Gypsy Night

Today was meant to be spent doing lots of hard work on my lab report (in for Thursday I might add) that I haven't started. Instead, I felt it necessary to spend ages doing my nails  and generally faffing about. I LOVE this nail polish, it reminds me of space/gothic disco haha! Needs a couple of coats to get the best effect but for £6 it's a bargain! A couple of months ago I went to the American Apparel thrift sale near Brick Lane, managed to pick up quite a few things and it all came to about £30 quid, I'll be showing more very soon :) Really hating uni atm so blogging has cheered me up a little bit, along with Haribos and fish fingers :) mmmm. Also can't stop wondering what I should do for my 21st birthday, not that I'm going to remember it......I know nobody reads this but any ideas? in London or Bristol methinks. ANYWAY back to Come Dine With Me.
NTS
I hope I'm not the only person who decides to dress up for not even leaving the house haha!

Look at me feckin nails !

WHAT      IS      THIS?
Nails: Nailene oval tips
Pink: Topshop - feisty
Black: Barry M - 47 Paint Black

Badass nails.

I bought Nailene stick ons from eBay, even though living near Peckham means I have access to MANY cheap nail salons. Just goes to show how cheap I really am haha!  So I was very inspired by Rihanna's claw-like cat nails thought i'd try my own. Nice result I think, stayed on all night at Proud and I party HARD. 10/10 for Nailene.
