I told myself this month I would only be shopping in charity shops, little did I know the American Apparel Outlet down the road would take over my life and being sad about how shit  uni is would make me reach for my bank card. I swear I cannot actually look at my bank account unless I am forced to pay rent or something. IT'S HARROWING.

Heeeeeeeey lovelies! Thank you tons for all the lovely comments you've been sending my way lately, I'm so surprised at the response ye olde blog has been getting. And hey to any new followers, I hope I don't suddenly seem all shit after you see this post haha!!

Just a quick one. I'm writing to you from within the pain and misery filled place of not knowing/being able to afford doing anything with my hair it's SO BORING at the moment! Apparently ombre just isn't satisfying, I want a pink afro for crying out loud! I can't face doing my own braids again this month, that's nine hours of my life I'll never be getting back.
Even worse than boring hair is the fact I got my card declined today, when I was trying to spend £5.98 on some lovely fabric dyes for my 50p white jumper from the bootsale. Dicks at HSBC won't let me extend my student overdraft because I am always in it, I AM A STUDENT OF COURSE I LIVE IN THE VERY BOTTOM OF OVERDRAFT CRETINS!

On a lighter note, I found my bindis and the car-boot sale on Sunday was pretty good. My first time ever I didn't really know what to expect but I managed to pick up a few absolute gems at bargain prices. One of those gems is my new denim hoodie/jacket with embroidered elephants on it. £2 !!!!

I'll be doing another post tomorrow dedicated to my numerous other marvellous finds, as well as putting loads of my clothes/shoes on Ebay due to aforementioned dirt poorness :(

My midi obsession: Jessie J's dress, Aztec Primark and LOTS OF SHOES!

MY EXAMS ARE FINALLY OVER!!!
And more to the point I'm pretty sure I smashed the last one!!!! I celebrated by drinking a lot of cider ( I'm from the West Country that's what we do ) and sampling the delights at the London Fields outdoor swimming pool, the weather in London has been beautiful the past few days. Yesterday I received this amazing midi dress in the post from ASOS. I fell in love with this dress after seeing it one Jessie J on the voice, I managed to snap one up before they sold out quickly and I wore it out shopping today, I felt so fancy wearing it round Westfield Stratford :
bodycon midi dress
Dress: ASOS , Necklace: Peacocks , Boots: Topshop

I'm not sure exactly what RedBull does to me but it makes me WEIRD. About a week and a half ago I went to Primark and tried on this midi dress (below) and completely fell in love. However, being the cheapskate I am I didn't want to spend £13 on something from Primark when I probably couldn't get that much for it on eBay. Since the day I tried it on I have been no less than OBSESSING over this dress, to the point where I have been trawling eBay for it. Luckily, I managed to find one in Primark Westfield today.
Bodycon aztec midi dress
As you can probably see I have a small obsession with midi dresses at the moment, which is ideal because walking down the road in East London wearing anything short results in numerous disgusting men shouting out of their shitty, stupidly loud cars. I really don't understand them at all, has any of them EVER pulled anyone apart from a crack-whore from shouting 'hey.. hey you ...sexy girl' out of their car window? I'm guessing NEVER. The irony of the situation is that if you tell them to fuck off they start getting janky about your looks. I will never understand men. Rant over.
I love this bralet I managed to find is the chaos of Primark, the aztec-y print and pastels are really cool for the summer. Although, be warned if you don't have tiny boobs, the cups are really small, I even got a size up and it's still a bit on the small side.

I LOVE these sunglasses, a bargain at just £2 and I feel like I'm channelling Beyonce in her Linda Farrows seen earlier this year.

I am still obsessed with tie dye, I really can't get enough of it and it's everywhere at the moment in the best possible way. This bodysuit is going to be my latest tie dye project, I'm going to try and make a multicoloured spiral effect. It's so fun and satisfying to tie dye your own clothes, so easy and simple to get a professional looking piece and it's SO CHEAP. I promise to post a tutorial in the next few days :)

I'm really looking forward to a summer filled with blogging, and hopefully a summer full of new shoes if I can get a job. Here's a few rad pairs I want to get my hands on :

  1. Floral flatforms -  £35 River Island
  2. Black flatforms - £19.99 eBay
  3. T-Bar studded Jeffrey Campbell Foxy lookalikes - £44.99 Missguided
  4. Chunky platforms - £40.99 Missguided
  5. Viper flatforms - £50 ASOS
  6. Block heel platforms - £22.99 eBay

Oooooh I can't wait for Radio 1's Hackney weekend coming up at the end of June, is anyone else going?

love Frankie

Studded shoulders, Jeffrey Campbells and a Summery dress, quitting my job and Chloe Green's shoes

Jacket: eBay and DIY

Dress: Topshop , Fishnets: Primark , Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell , Necklace: Marc Jacobs

So this week has been really weird...I went for a catch up lunch with my friend Emily and ended up going to Brighton for a couple of days which was amazing! BUT I had to quit my job as a shot girl which was ridiculously stressful. If you don't know of what  being a shot girl consists of here's a run down:

  1.  Most shifts took place in crappy West End clubs, where I was required to wear 'thick foundation' and 'fake eyelashes at all times' along with a 'sexy, short, tight dress and heels'.
  2. I then had to pay up to £110 per bottle of alcohol up front (before selling anything) and provide my own mixers (red bull or lime cordial).
  3. Then I had to MAJORLY under-pour alcohol ( to even earn any money, I had to use 1/3 of alcohol that would normally be used by the bar) to drunk cretins who have no respect for my personal space.
  4. I'd  sell  shots for six hours at prices that were £2 cheaper than the bar but nobody bloody wants to buy them.
  5. Then I'd get to the end of the night, if I hadn't sold the '2 bottle minimum' (which is extremely hard with five other girls trying to do the same thing) I have to pay £220 and often leave with nothing.
The amount of money I made rendered the job something more like the worlds shittest hobby (if your hobby is being groped by disgusting city boys and bitched at by chavvy girls). I did have a few really good nights but I think the things I had to put up with took the shine off a bit. My manager/pimp didn't really care about me, so I finally just said you know what...shove the job I'm worth more than that.

Rant over.

So this week saw the launch of Chloe Green's shoe range for Topshop.

But on the upside, things may be looking up for me where the fashion world is concerned, I think I may be getting more styling work (watch this space) and I'm free to pursue a part time job (hopefully in  shop I like) that doesn't involve debasing myself for money :)

The glass is half full.

Charity shops and a vintage fair : London is bleeding me dry

Hey guys , so today it was raining in London town and despite this fact I decided it was okay to wear tiny little shorts (albeit with tights, getting some weird looks in the library now NOT APPROPRIATE ). Sorry about the bathroom mirror pics, nobody around today to take any :/

 Where is it from?

Jumper: Topshop (last winter)
Shorts: DIY from a charity shop
T shirt: Gina Tricot
Lipstick: Mac in Velvet Teddy

My dad went on a weekend away to Stockholm with his lovely girlfriend (who I am sure chose my gift) and came back with this really cool t-shirt for me, you can't really tell much from the picture but it has this cool ombre rainbow thing going on , I love it.

This week has been a week of pure procrastination, my exams are only a month away yet I saw it fit to be wondering around Hammersmith and Shepards Bush all day. Me and Hanna (from the Sheet ) trawled through various charity shops and wondered around Westfield all day. Resulting in me only having £20 to live on until Monday :(. But it was all worth it for these bargains :

Shirt : £1.50 Cancer research
Shorts : DIYed from trousers £3.00

I apologise for looking like a complete idiot in this photo.

Dress: Reiss 1971 collection £10 Triad

Now if only I had a pair of these......

And I'll have a killer outfit on my hands.

Just going to have a little moan about Triad (charity shop) by the way....

So I went into triad in Shepards Bush and I found this nice multicoloured 80's print maxi skirt  and lo and behold was I delighted to see a price tag of £2 on it. However, on going to the cashier I was told that actually the tag was wrong and it cost £15!!!! FFS, then I realised what had happened was that Triad had gone to cancer research (where the tag was from), seen the skirt was cool, then marked it up from the £2 cancer research charged for it. BEARING IN MIND I am as poor as a church mouse this really pissed me off, although I know Triad is a charity I thought this was a bit cheeky, not only are they stealing money from cancer patients, but they are trying to empty my pockets EVEN MORE. Needless to say I didn't buy the skirt (definitely wasn't worth £15) and took my business elsewhere (Age Concern).

Models Own nail varnish in Fluro' Orange £5

And the Sunday before (please don't ask me why I'm not writing in chronological order) me and Ailbhe went to the food market and vintage fair on Brick Lane. I had some lovely dim sum AND a katsu curry, how greedy am I? There were so much really cheap vintage clothes and things, and the people on the stalls were lovely, including one lady I was very jealous of as she had a beautiful patent leather vintage Moschino belt, purchased from the stall across from her the previous weekend. I managed to grab a few bargains there as well :

Vintage  jumpsuit (I made it into a playsuit because the legs were a bit short) £10

Vintage mens shirt ( I cut out the shoulders and I'm going to stud the collar) £5

Vintage ring on the left  (I feel in love with it after it didn't fit Ailbhe and her tiny fingers, I still feel quite bad about it :S ) £6

And the nail varnish in this picture is by Models Own Beetlejuice collection in Aqua Violet

So yeah , I am poor but I think my wardrobe is better off for it.

Still counting down the days till the student loan comes in, I got the date wrong and it's actually the 23rd wahhh! I'm going up to Newcastle next week for my friend Gabby's boyfriends house night called Nocturnal Playground, going to see those Futureboogie guys again, Lukas and Christophe AGAIN. Will be getting plenty of shopping done whilst up there, these are just a few things on my wish list :

  1. Stripy bodysuit -          £20                 www.lavishalice.co.uk
  2. Cross bodysuit -          £22                  Miss Selfridge
  3. Flamingo jumper -       £19.99             www.missguided.co.uk
  4. Polo neck bodysuit -    £25                 River Island
  5. Wedges -]                   £60                  www.asos.com
  6. Tartan bralet -             £12                  Newlook
  7. Peace leggings -           £12                  www.lavishalice.co.uk

I have all that to look forward to, now to get started on the revision and listening to Soul Clap too loud..... lets pray I pass the year.

Easter, Bristol, hangovers and DIY : Safety-pin cross T

The past week has been the best I have had in ages, although it has rendered me completely skint.. no I mean dirt poor. I got to go home to Bristol for the first time since January (seems like eternity), got to attend my first Shapes, was pretty good and
best of all it's a night put on by some of my nearest and dearest friends. Loads of amazing people

Above : Me and Anne Marie drunking it up - Check out her nails SO GOOD!

Despite being of questionable sobriety all night I managed to catch lots of what was going on , I especially enjoyed Pardon my French and of course the Lovely Fuz, threw a lot of SHAPES  Definately check this night out if you are in the West Country soon, the Actual DJ Jazzy Jeff is heading up the next night look here.

jazzy

YES THE ACTUAL JAZZY JEFF

But now I'm back in London and back to work, which may I add is going terribly. Being a shot girl is so hard, I'm not pushy enough for sales, the kind of people who tend  go to the clubs I work in are vile, I really don't like men or the women who are bitchy to me because they think I'm hitting on their scum-bag boyfriends GET A LIFE! The things I do for money hmmmm...
Sorry rant over.

Anyway because of my lack of work I have had to reinvent stuff I already have
like this American Apparel tank DIY with safety pins:

safety pin cross

Pretty self explanatory really, so easy and I LOVE it. Also cracking out the purple lipstick lately has have a great reaction, in the above photo, I'm wearing Revlon - Va Va Violet.

revlon

But anyway today I went to the doctors and decided to dress up seeing as I haven't emerged from my room for 24 hours after Fabric the other night. I don't even know half of what went on, all I
know is Christian , If you are out there HEEEY MAAAN!
I love how the tie dye came out in these shorts, pastels are sick ! I wore the oversized sheer shirt to offset the tightness of the shorts/ attempting some kind of volume like the current trend (I naturally gravitate to tight clothes), I did spend the whole day pulling these out of my bum - however I still looked good n'est-ce pas?

Where Is It From ?

Shirt : H&M
Shorts : Charity Shop £2.50 DIY cut and dyed
Boots : Dr Martens
Cross Necklace: Topshop
Quartz chain necklace : Borrowed from Anne Marie , thanks man :)

As I insist every year, I only received Kinder Easter Eggs thanks to my lovely father.
Why isn't everything made of Kinder?
Hope you had a lovely Easter

DIY Tie Dye shorts, crop top and everything else I've recently aquired

Had a pretty hectic couple of weeks had a dyslexia screening (I am seriously challenged in the spelling/writing area), been ill, had MANY uni deadlines, but now I'm free for a bit YAY!!

So for the last couple of months I've been dying to get tie dying a bunch of stuff, my dad bought me a bunch of Dylon hand dyes but  hadn't got round to actually dying anything.
Soooo.... after a hungover wonder around Waitrose my house mate Ailbhe beseeched  me to get on with it yesterday and these are the results:

The results were great! My  favourite is the crop top, I can't wait to wear it, styled with some black cut off Levis, denim  jacket, Dr Martens and my circular sunny G's.
It was so easy.

I used this tutorial but used multiple colours.
The colours I  used in Dylon hand dyes were:

Tropical green
Flamingo Pink
Ocean Blue
Intense Violet

All are available in my favourite art shop in Hoxton but are cheap with free postage here on eBay , they have 24 colours I WANT THEM ALL. I also just ought LOADS of studs from eBay, going to stud up my vtg denim jacket and the tie dyed shorts. But in the meantime I NEED TO TIE DYE EVERYTHING I OWN.

I said  I would put up a photo of my new rainbow jumper I got from a charity shop on Roman Road so here you go :

How cool is that !

I also got :

Aztec holey crop top from Topshop

'Smile' belt bought by my lovely boyfriend from ASOS

I apologise for the slight shittyness of this post, I am VERY hungover from a night at The Alibi last night
These photos pretty much sum it up:

I have no idea who that man is, but he loved the shoes.
I also just remembered I had a dream I was playing football in the street with my friends, as you do, then when the ball went behind the bin and lo and behold I found a pair of ISABEL MARANT WEDGE TRAINERS!!!! Woke up feeling a little disappointed not gonna lie..

I'm going to go watch hunger games
Have a lovely Saturday :)
