SUMMERTIME : Festival inspiration, getting my belly out, and tiger striped nails

Crop Top : Forever 21 ,  Shorts : DIY Vintage Wrangler , Belt : ASOS , Creepers : Underground

I never really know what face to do in pictures, so here I am trying something new, beautiful yah? All I can think about is could I fit a aubergine in my mouth.. looks like I could. The crop top I wore in this outfit is officially the first item I have ever purchased from Forever 21, exciting I know. Now, I never usually go in there, it's too big and the visual merchandising is ATROCIOUS but the other day with an extra 15 minutes to kill I popped into the Oxford Street store and found this beauty. I LOVE the print, it reminds me of my grandmas old sofas when I was little with a 'club Tropicana' edge. The gathered back is a lovely touch too (hello back fat).

I'm guessing most of my fellow students are now in the run up to exams and revising like a bitch, I know I am.... or not ... I've been doing things like this:
tiger print nails

Using my new Models Own nail polish in Flouro' Orange, a Sharpie for the stripes and Rimmel matte finish.
Buying these:

I have a renewed obsession with the Unif Hellbound boots and the only way I can begin to appease the shoe hungry monster is to buy rainbow laces. I'm planning on finding some platform black boots or maybe wedges to put these in, but for now, they are going in the Dr Martens.

The student loan is quite literally burning a hole in my bank account, I love shopping for clothes but I've got to the point where there is quite literally no point, I wear less clothes in summer anyway and there's FESTIVAL TICKETS TO BE BOUGHT WOOOOOOOOOOOO! These are the festivals I'm going to :

I can't wait to go back to Berlin for Melt! I had a fucking epic messy time there in January with my friends and I think this will be even better.
Now I'm not the average blogger who prattles on about festival fashion and that kind of thing, rather than parading around like I'm at Coachella in 4 inch heels as if it's a fashion show I prefer a more relaxed, albeit crazy take on things. Within about an hour of reaching the festival and putting up my tent (like a pro I might add) I will probably look like I've been dragged through a hedge by a tramp and probably as drunk as one soo looking nice is out of the picture... Therefore, I don't plan outfits per-say apart from FANCY DRESS :D !!! Now anyone who knows me knows I love to dress up so I have put together a few key bits/pictures of me and my friends from last boom town to get the creative juices flowing  :

C3PO costume is well on it's way to completion - Gold unitard : ASOS , Mask : eBay ,
Body paint : Amazon , 10 hole Dr Martens : here , Zombie nurse costume : eBay

A word of advice, when you go to a nipple tassle workshop and wear them away don't  expect them to stay on! you have been warned !!

The summer is nearly upon us.

Styling a goddess, bit of Boy London and a road trip to Newcastle

Last weekend was the best weekend ever! My friend Hanna Hillier called me up and asked if I could style a  photo shoot for her with this AMAZING model Daniela Braga. Daniela was phenomenal, beautiful, lovely and  she has an amazing back catalogue of work; she did Paris fashion week, New York AND she shot a campaign for Givenchy a couple of weeks before the shoot we did!! I was so nervous but I'm really chuffed as the shots actually made it on to the next website. Here are a few of my favourites:

I love how she is wearing my Nikes in thee last shot :)
Despite the language barrier (she is Brazilian) we got along really well, she was so down to earth and probably the most gorgeous person I have ever seen in the flesh.

Then on Sunday I went shopping to Topshop with my dad and his lovely girlfriend, tried on half the shop and got an insane amount of new clothes which I will no doubt be sharing with you in due course. This is what I wore on that little excursion:

Top : Gina Tricot, Jeans : Topshop, Shoes : Underground (My little sister's)

This weekend the much exalted student loan came in - my quality of life has gone  through the roof as a result. First thing I did was purchase this beater (as my boyfriend would call it) from Boy London:

I've been wanting one for ages and I like to think one day my future child will thank me for it. By the way, that is now how I'm justifying my clothing and accessories binging. My mum hasn't really got any of her clothes from the 80's and 90's left due to moving country etc. I am always so jealous of my friends amazing vintage wardrobes courtesy of their mothers, so buying copious  amounts of interesting clothes is my way of helping out my future daughter with hers.
The beater should be at my house by the time I get back from Newcastle, YEAH BUDDY!!!!

At the moment I'm all the way up in Newcastle for my friends Gabby's boyfriends house night Nocturnal Playground, also I'm told in Newcastle they sell triples behind the bar WTF?? I think tonight might be very messy.

We experienced the delights of  Newcastle today at the Metro Centre, I didn't really buy anything because I literally don't need any more clothes after this weekend but it all right, not as god as Westfield London though mind. This is what I wore during the day:

Top/dress : Topshop , Leggings : Black Milk , Boots : Dr Martens , Earrings : Miss Selfridge

I apologise for the weird facial expression, I should really start putting a paper bag over my face haha!

This is what I'm wearing tonight when we go out:
Bodysuit : Miss selfridge , Disco Pants : American apparel , Boots : Jeffrey Campbell

I am absolutely DREADING the coach back to London tomorrow afternoon, seven hours in hungover hell, hopefully it will be empty so I can spread out over a couple of seats. Wish me luck

Charity shops and a vintage fair : London is bleeding me dry

Hey guys , so today it was raining in London town and despite this fact I decided it was okay to wear tiny little shorts (albeit with tights, getting some weird looks in the library now NOT APPROPRIATE ). Sorry about the bathroom mirror pics, nobody around today to take any :/

 Where is it from?

Jumper: Topshop (last winter)
Shorts: DIY from a charity shop
T shirt: Gina Tricot
Lipstick: Mac in Velvet Teddy

My dad went on a weekend away to Stockholm with his lovely girlfriend (who I am sure chose my gift) and came back with this really cool t-shirt for me, you can't really tell much from the picture but it has this cool ombre rainbow thing going on , I love it.

This week has been a week of pure procrastination, my exams are only a month away yet I saw it fit to be wondering around Hammersmith and Shepards Bush all day. Me and Hanna (from the Sheet ) trawled through various charity shops and wondered around Westfield all day. Resulting in me only having £20 to live on until Monday :(. But it was all worth it for these bargains :

Shirt : £1.50 Cancer research
Shorts : DIYed from trousers £3.00

I apologise for looking like a complete idiot in this photo.

Dress: Reiss 1971 collection £10 Triad

Now if only I had a pair of these......

And I'll have a killer outfit on my hands.

Just going to have a little moan about Triad (charity shop) by the way....

So I went into triad in Shepards Bush and I found this nice multicoloured 80's print maxi skirt  and lo and behold was I delighted to see a price tag of £2 on it. However, on going to the cashier I was told that actually the tag was wrong and it cost £15!!!! FFS, then I realised what had happened was that Triad had gone to cancer research (where the tag was from), seen the skirt was cool, then marked it up from the £2 cancer research charged for it. BEARING IN MIND I am as poor as a church mouse this really pissed me off, although I know Triad is a charity I thought this was a bit cheeky, not only are they stealing money from cancer patients, but they are trying to empty my pockets EVEN MORE. Needless to say I didn't buy the skirt (definitely wasn't worth £15) and took my business elsewhere (Age Concern).

Models Own nail varnish in Fluro' Orange £5

And the Sunday before (please don't ask me why I'm not writing in chronological order) me and Ailbhe went to the food market and vintage fair on Brick Lane. I had some lovely dim sum AND a katsu curry, how greedy am I? There were so much really cheap vintage clothes and things, and the people on the stalls were lovely, including one lady I was very jealous of as she had a beautiful patent leather vintage Moschino belt, purchased from the stall across from her the previous weekend. I managed to grab a few bargains there as well :

Vintage  jumpsuit (I made it into a playsuit because the legs were a bit short) £10

Vintage mens shirt ( I cut out the shoulders and I'm going to stud the collar) £5

Vintage ring on the left  (I feel in love with it after it didn't fit Ailbhe and her tiny fingers, I still feel quite bad about it :S ) £6

And the nail varnish in this picture is by Models Own Beetlejuice collection in Aqua Violet

So yeah , I am poor but I think my wardrobe is better off for it.

Still counting down the days till the student loan comes in, I got the date wrong and it's actually the 23rd wahhh! I'm going up to Newcastle next week for my friend Gabby's boyfriends house night called Nocturnal Playground, going to see those Futureboogie guys again, Lukas and Christophe AGAIN. Will be getting plenty of shopping done whilst up there, these are just a few things on my wish list :

  1. Stripy bodysuit -          £20                 www.lavishalice.co.uk
  2. Cross bodysuit -          £22                  Miss Selfridge
  3. Flamingo jumper -       £19.99             www.missguided.co.uk
  4. Polo neck bodysuit -    £25                 River Island
  5. Wedges -]                   £60                  www.asos.com

  7. Peace leggings -           £12                  www.lavishalice.co.uk

I have all that to look forward to, now to get started on the revision and listening to Soul Clap too loud..... lets pray I pass the year.
